My car keeps turning off while driving and sometimes at a stop. Its as if I turned the key to the off position. Sometimes the CEL illuminates other times it does not. While driving most of the time the car recovers and the only way you know it happened is because it feels like a terrible missfire and the Tach drops to 0. The other day the car cut out at 80mph and I needed to stop the car completely before I could restart it.

What could be wrong with the unit? I have checked all of the wiring in the PnP harness and all the wiring under the hood for a possible short but I was unable to find anything.

Need more ideas.

I'd be looking for potential breaks. Much moe likely than shorts.

No breaks can be found in anything. When this happens the radio also cuts out similar to an over volt situation.
I am leaning towards the immobilizer or something wrong with the alternator or the way the hydra controls the alternator.

You probably need to adjust your input follower feedback map to bring down the charging voltage.

Data logged it today, it just stopped logging when the event happened so the log shows nothing. This is a new problem by the way, no reason for any settings in the hydra to randomly change after working for two years.

If the hydra loses power it will shut off. However it seems to be an overcharging problem which will shut the ecu down also.
